The executive board consists of 6 Directors-at-Large, secretary, and is joined by the Executive Director. Three at-large members are elected by the full membership at each annual meeting to serve a two year term. From the 6 Directors-at-Large, the President and Vice-President are voted to serve each year during the reorganization meeting at the conclusion of the annual conference. They determine the auditing system for the executive director and bring to the board recommendations for discussion and voting purposes.

IASBO and STAI has partnered to offer a Certified Transportation Director certification for current and aspiring Transportation Directors who want to stay current and add to their skills to better perform the duties of a Transportation Director.
